Click the middle pattern and you will see that it is in the metal category.įrom here, we could just change the color, but I'm not fond of the way the metal shines, so I'm going to change the category to start with. First we'll look at changing the bed itself. If you are unsure which is which, just select one and change the color to see what area changes. The top one is the bedspread, the next is the bed itself and the bottom one is the sheets and pillows. Take a look at the primary interface and we see there are three patterns that can be changed. We can pick one of these, but let's customize it further. You will see that there are a few preset recolors in the secondary interface that we can choose from. When the interface appears, click on the bed to select it. Go into buy or build mode and click the palette button. In this example room, we will recolor the bed.

Clicking the plus sign will expand the patterns again.Ģ. If identical patterns are collapsed, there will be a small plus sign on the pattern. If when you change, you want these patterns to remain the same, you can collapse them into one pattern and just work on the one.
Collapse Identical Patterns: Sometimes an item will have a number of areas that are the same pattern. The number of patterns will depend on the item you are changing.ġa. Let's take a look at the interface and all its features, and then we'll run through a few examples of customizing items. In Create A Sim, or when you use the dresser to plan outfit, the palette is located at the bottom of the clothing selection area. In Buy or Build mode in game, click on the palette button or press the 'R' button on the keyboard. It can also be accessed from the Create A Sim mode, either before you start a game while creating your family or from in-game when you use the dresser to plan a Sim's outfit. The Create A Style tool (CAST for this tutorial) can be accessed in-game when we are in buy or build mode. Let's take a look and get to know this tool.
